50 Things to Do Before You’re 5!

50 Things to Do is a great resource to take a look at to enhance your child’s learning at home!
It provides lots of different activities you can get up to together and how they improve your child’s development in many ways.

All the different activities on the website are numbered, so we can share with you some of the activities we do regularly in our nurseries!

There are lots of different exciting activities to choose from, ranging from outdoor adventurous experiences to cosy craft DIY days!

Lots of the activities don’t require many resources, so it’s nice and easy for the children to get on with them at home!

On the 50 Things website, they have printable resources that can be useful to use at home. They have a stamp sheet which has 50 blank circles for you to fill in each time you complete one of the 50 activities! Then once you’ve completed them all there is a lovely certificate you can have to reward yourselves for all your hard work.

There is plenty of information available about how this can help your child’s development and why it’s important to engage in different types of play.

You can also access all of this and more on the mobile app!

Some of the activities help to develop children’s cultural capital, whilst growing up in a community, 50 Things to do encourages children to learn about their local areas and explore landscapes. Cultural capital exploration helps to develop children’s crucial skills they will need for future success.

Take a look at the resources sheet and pick some activities to get on with over the next few weeks.
Please share some pictures of the activities you complete with your children!
