All our Family Hubs and Nurseries welcome everyone to groups and sessions available throughout the hubs.Â
Each hub has a named SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) who is there to offer support and guidance to parents/carers and children. If you require further information please contact your nearest Family Hub.

As Family Hubs and Nurseries we have good working relationships with a range professionals for example speech and language therapist, portage and health visitors.
DCATCH (Disabled Children Access to Childcare) is funding that can be applied for specifically for children between 0-5 years who have additional needs and may need some additional support, resources to make adaptations within the nursery environment in order for the child to access nursery provision.

An interactive stay and play for children with identified additional needs in Lower Valley. The group values inclusivity, individuality, diversity and equality for all. A safe space where you can join in the fun, meet other families in a stimulating and secure environment.
There is also support and advice monthly from specialist, dedicated inclusion worker.

Is a parent led organisation that provides support and delivers a range of services to help parents and carers of children with additional needs. We exist for all families of disabled children and young people in Calderdale aged 0-25 who have special needs, ongoing health conditions, physical disabilities or learning disabilities, including those who are awaiting diagnosis.
Whether you want help to navigate the disability and SEN systems, speak to someone who has an idea of what you are going through, access training, meet new friends or have your opinion on local services hear, the team can help.
The Portage and Early Years Support Teacher Team is part of the Specialist Inclusion Teams. They are nationally accredited portage home visitors and qualified teachers. They work with families and Early Year providers. This is to make sure the youngest children with SEND get the extra educational support they need.

Each family has a named Health Visitor who, if the family wishes, acts as a care-coordinator. Your Health Visitor works directly with your whole family to make sure you are supported consistently and with guidance are able to take ownership of your family’s health goals.
