
We are currently recruiting Parent Champions for all the Family Hubs in Calderdale.
Parent Champions are parents themselves, who have accessed Children’s Centre/Family Hub services.
The role of a Parent Champion includes:
- Speaking to parents in your community to gather information, opinions and ideas that are used when planning future Family Hub services.
- Carrying out consultation with parents on a regular basis to support with the planning and development of Family Hub of services.
- Promoting Family Hub services to your local community using a range of approaches to increase engagement.
- Supporting parents who have low confidence to access services by accompanying them to Family Hub services.
- Attending Family Hub Network Meetings (which are held termly) to provide the voice of local families.

- A clear understanding of what Family Hubs do
- The opportunity to develop new skills that could help when looking for employment.
- Access to a wide range of training.
We are looking for people who are:
- A parent with a child(ren) or young person under 19 years (or under 25 years if child(ren) or young person has additional needs).
- Have an optimistic outlook and are able to commit a few hours per month for a 12-month period
- Understand local issues and are prepared to do something about them.
