Coronavirus (COVID-19) update for NHP service users

Message from Tina Burke, Chief Executive, North Halifax Partnership Ltd.

As I am sure you are all well aware Coronavirus has been declared a Public Health emergency of international concern.

NHP are committed to prioritising safety and reducing the spread of infection to all our staff, service users and partners and we are adhering to government, Public Health and Department for Education guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

In line with Government advice all of our services are still operational. We are asking all our visitors to sanitise their hands and our staff teams are practising good hand hygiene and we have increased our cleaning regimes.

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of a new continuous cough and/or high temperature. If you or any of your family have these symptoms, you should self-isolate for 14 days and we ask that you do not attend any of our NHP services, or sites during this time.

All our current nursery policies will continued to be followed including our payment policy. The first day calling procedure in nurseries must continue to be followed. Please ensure your child’s absence is communicated direct to nursery. Staff will continue to contact families if no contact is made.

Please note that if your child develops a temperature of 37.8 above or a new continuous cough  during the session during the session, we will contact you to collect them immediately then you and your family should self-isolate for 14 days.

For your information the Department for Education has launched a helpline to answer questions about COVID-19 related to education. Staff, parents and young people can contact the helpline as follows: Phone: 0800 046 8687 Email: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk  Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)

All Ward forums are cancelled until further notice.

Please note that all our current external recruitment will go on hold, if you have submitted an application, this will be kept till we open recruitment for the advertised posts again.

Our Staying Well team are in the process of moving to a telephone service to ensure we can still offer some support to the most vulnerable people and those facing isolation.

We appreciate that these new measures may cause some inconvenience to families but during these uncertain times we have to follow government advice and ensuring we are safeguarding children and families and doing everything we can to contain this virus.

As you are all aware the guidance is ever changing and decisions are being made daily by the government, we will continue to follow the recommended advice and practice and we will keep you all up to date.

Should we feel we are not able to meet our staff ratios due to staff absences then we may have to consider closing our nurseries, but we can assure you this will be a last resort measure and we will do our best to maintain nursery provision.

If we make any decisions to put any of our services on hold or deliver them differently, we will post communication on our Social media sites, so please look out for any updates.

Kind Regards
Tina
