North Halifax Partnership (NHP) is looking to recruit a #LetsGetSociallyActive Community Organiser to cover the northern part of the town, specifically the wards of Ovenden, and Illingworth & Mixenden.
37.5 hrs p/w (we are also interested to hear from people wishing to work part time or job share)
Salary £21,000 per annum (FTE)

This is your chance to be part of a fantastic community project in Halifax which aims to increase social action amongst local residents and enable community campaigns, projects and activities which improve life for people living locally.
The #LetsGetSociallyActive project has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Culture Media & Sport through their Place Based Social Action programme. Eight local charities and Calderdale council are partners in the project, which is led by Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT).
This post will be expected to work together with the #LetsGetSociallyActive Community Organiser* in Park ward (HOT employed), encouraging campaigns and projects that cover both areas as well as working at neighbourhood level.
You will need:
- Experience of community organising including the core skills of listening, bringing people together and converting ideas into action
- Knowledge and experience of the community sector
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet project requirements
